Clinical analysis of posterior chamber intraocular lens extraction in 70 Cases

Abstract
Objective To investigate the causes and methods of posterior chamber intraocular lens extraction surgery. Methods The clinical data of 70 cases with posterior chamber intraocular lens extraction were retrospectively analyzed.The reasons and methods of the surgery were summarized.Main outcome included the position of IOL,best-corrected visual acuity,slit-lamp biomicroscopy and complications. Results Among the 70 cases:intraocular lens dislocation or semi-dislocation in 53 eyes,endophthalmitis in 8 eyes,retina detachment in 9 eyes,secondary glaucoma in 4 eyes,bullous keratopathy in 1 eye,intraocular lens degree error in 1 eye,pupil campling in 1 eye,opacification of the IOL in 1 eye.Forty-four eyes were implanted with new intraocular lens in the same operation,the rest were not implanted intraocular lens.Postoperative best-corrected visual acuity was better than preoperative best-corrected visual acuity (P<0.05).No serious postoperative complication was observed during follow-up. Conclusions IOL extraction is an effective way to deal with severe postoperative complication. Key words: Posterior chamber intraocular lens; Extraction; Cataract
