Abstract

Objective To analyze clinical features of 229 confirmed influenza A patients. Methods 489 cases had typical influenza-like symptoms, the nasopharyngeal swabs of the 489 cases were took and sent to CDC influenza network laboratory for influenza A real time polymerase chain reaction test. Results Among the 489 cases, there were 229 influenza A positive patients, 178 of 229 cases were normal influenza A positive patients, 51 of 229 cases were influenza A H1N1 patients. The influenza A positive cases were mainly tested from August to December in 2009, the time from disease onset to visiting hospital was (1. 76 ± 1. 14) days. Compare with the influenza negative patients, symptoms such as sore throat, cough, expectoration, nasal congestion, sneezing, and runny nose were more frequently observed in influenza virus A-positive patients. But the symptoms between normal influenza A and influenza A H1N1 had no significant difference. The influenza A positive patients were mainly young, but the influenza A H1N1 patients were younger than normal influenza A patients. Conclusions The symptoms of influenza A positive patients are more serious than those of influenza A negative patients. Key words: Influenza virus;  Influenza A H1N1;  Fever department;  Influenza-like symptoms
