Progress of high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy in respiratory diseases

High-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy is developing as a new method of oxygen therapy during recent years.It has been widely noticed because of its better heating and humidifying function, stable inhaled oxygen concentration and similar function of positive pressure ventilation mode in oxygen therapy.It was used in the field of pediatrics firstly, especially in acute respiratory distress syndrome of the newborn.In recent years, it has been applied in respiratory support treatment of different fields and obtained good therapeutic effects.This article mainly reviews the progress of the application of high flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy in respiratory diseases in adult.
