Abstract
Leadership styles are one approach to considering the concept and phenomenon of leadership. This paper focuses on three contemporary leadership styles: transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership. Thereby, it has been investigated whether persons operating in different spheres, sports and banking, have the same leadership styles. According to the results of the conducted questionnaire and interviews, it can be concluded that the use of leadership styles does not differ in two different types of organization. In both organizations, transformational and transactional leadership styles are used the most. Also, some differences in the use of leadership styles were explored regarding the years of experience in leadership. People with longer leadership experience tend to use a transformational leadership style. In modern organizations, it is essential to adapt to subordinates and to use different approaches in different situations to ensure that they work in the interest of the organization and contribute to the achievement of its goals.
