Safety of gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist protocol absolutely for high ovarian responders

Abstract
Objective
To evaluate the safety of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist protocol for high ovarian responders duringin vitrofertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET).
Methods
GnRH antagonist protocol was used for three high ovarian responders. The incidence of moderate-severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) was observed.
Results
One case of moderate OHSS occurred in three patients.
Conclusion
Utilization of GnRH antagonist protocol can not absolutely prevent the occurrence of OHSS. Suitable starting doses of gonadotropins and appropriate trigger drugs should be used for avoiding the occurrence of moderate-severe OHSS.
