Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of fasudil in the treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhage. Methods Eighty patients with spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage confirmed by cranial CT or lumbar puncture from Mar.2009 to Dec.2010 were randomly divided into two groups, treatment group (40 cases) and control group (40 cases). All the patients in the two groups received conventional therapy.Patients in the treatment group received injection of fasudil, patients in the control group received injection of nimodipine. Results Both fasudil and nimodipine were effective to treat cerebral vasospasm following subarachnoid hemorrhage, the effective rate of treatment group was 92.5% and was 77.5% in control group, there was significant difference between the two groups ( P <0.05 ).The time of headache and neck stiffness in treatment group was shorter than that in control group ( P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Fasudil is worth application for its efficiency and safety in treating cerebral vasospasm following subarachnoid hemorrhage. Key words: Subarachnoid hemorrhage; Fasudil; Nimodipine; Efficacy
