Comparative analysis of clinical value of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis for end-stage diabetic nephropathy

Abstract

Objective To analyze the specific procedure and practical clinical effects of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis for diabetic patients. Methods Fifty patients with diabetic nephropathy admitted to Taiyuan Central Hospital from January 2014 to October 2015 were randomly divided into two groups, with 25 cases in each group. Patients treated by peritoneal dialysis were allocated into peritoneal dialysis group, and patients treated by hemodialysis were set as hemodialysis group. The therapeutic effects and safety of the two groups were analyzed, and the practical value of the two groups was compared. Results The urine albumin excretion rate (UAER), plasma fibrinogen(FIB), D-Dimer(D-D) in peritoneal dialysis group were significantly better than those in hemodialysis group (P 0.05). The incidence of bleeding and other complications of peritoneal dialysis group did not differ from the indexes of hemodialysis group (P>0.05). The number of patients with hemorrhage and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease was less in hemodialysis group than that in peritoneal dialysis group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions For patients with end-stage diabetes, outcomes of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis are similar, however, the safety of hemodialysis is superior to peritoneal dialysis.
