Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy and medical fees of different frequencies of dressing change in diabetic patients with stage Ⅲ pressure sores. Methods Random number table was used to divide 62 patients with stage Ⅲ pressure sores into the observation group (31 cases) and the control group (31 cases).75% alcohol together with resins draconis was mixed into pasto and applied on the wound, and thtan viscose foam dressing was applied on the outer layer. The dressing was changed every 5 days in the observation group and every 3 days in the control group. Results Effective rate was 94.1% of the observation group and 97.1%of the control group. There was no significant difference between the two groups ( x2 =0.796,P > 0.05 ).Average cost of dressing use was ( 1 67.7 ± 14.5 )Yuan in the observation group and (277.9 ± 18.9 ) Yuan in the control group; Average frequency of dressing use was ( 4.2 ± 1.2 ) times in the observation group and (6.7 ± 1.5)times in the control group. The differences were statistically significant (t =27.486 1,7.588 7,respectively;P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Among combined application of resina draconis and foam dressing in patients with stage Ⅲ pressure sores, lower frequency of dressing use does not reduce treatment outcome but reduces the patients' economic burden and nurses' workload and avoids the patients' discomfort during dressing change.
