Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of PI3K-Akt agonist 740 Y-P on the expression of Akt and Caspase3 protein in rat pancreatic β-tumor cells (INS-1) and its significance. Methods INS-1 cells were stimulated with PI3K-Akt agonist 740 Y-P, and the expression levels of p-Akt and Caspase3 protein were detected by Western blotting. Results The results showed that 740 Y-P significantly increased the protein expression of p-Akt, but decreased the expression of Caspase3 (both P<0.05). Conclusion PI3K-Akt agonist 740 Y-P could induce the proliferation of INS-1 cells, which maybe one of the mechanism about pancreatic beta cell apoptosis in type 2 diabetes. Key words: Type 2 diabetes; 740 Y-P; Cell apoptosis
