Arthroscopic debridement combined with variable-speed lavage in treatment of suppurative knee arthritis

Abstract
Objective
To explore the effect of arthroscopic debridement combined with variable-speed lavage in the treatment of suppurative knee arthritis.
Methods
Twenty-six patients with knee septic arthritis underwent arthroscopic debridement, intraoperative catheterization, and postoperative joint cavity variable lavage treatment.
Results
After 6-24 (11.7±5.5) months’ follow-up, 26 cases of knee septic arthritis were cured, with no recurrence. Joint function was scored according to the Lysholm knee score. Six months after the operation, 10 cases were excellent, 12 good, 3 fair, and 1 poor, with an excellent and good rate of 84.6%.
Conclusion
Knee arthroscopy combined with postoperative catheterization and lavage treatment for knee septic arthritis has a significant effect, and can reduce the risk of knee disability.
