Abstract

Objective To explore the correlation between V -wave response threshold of brainstem auditory e-voked potential and subjective hearing threshold in normal human. Methods Eighty cases of normal BAEP and determina-tion of pure tone audiometry were carried out. Results Eighty cases of normal V - wave response threshold were higher than the subjective hearing threshold of about 10 -20 dB. With the youth -junior group and youth group of about 10 dB,middle - aged group of about 15 dB, the elder group of about 20 dB. Conclusions The difference between BAEP wave V response threshold and the subjective hearing threshold have a good correlation to age, which can be used as a objective tar-get to evaluate hearing threshold. Key words: Normal human;  BAEP; V-wave response threshold; Subjective hearing threshold
