Abstract
Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) remains a major cause of childhood blindness and visual impairment.ROP is a multifactorial disease which is associated with prematurity, low birth weight and oxygen treatment.Evidence for a genetic basis for susceptibility to ROP is examined which may help to find a new way to prevent or treatment of ROP in the future. Key words: Retinopathy of prematurity; Gene; Prematurity
