Abstract

Agriculture is backbone of Indian economy and at the present scenario of the world India is among the second largest producer of the agricultural products. As per 2018, 50% of India’s workforce is employed by the agriculture and it contributes 17-18% of the GDP of the country. Agriculture is only one source of income for almost two-third of employed class in India. Agriculture sector is at first place at providing employment opportunity to people of country Other than its contribution in GDP and providing employment the exports of country also rising considerably. To maintain and accelerate the growth of this sector there is a tremendous need for huge and logical investment in physical infrastructure and human capital.Keywords: GDP, agriculture
