Abstract

Recent years, noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) which was the preferred management for COPD patients with respiratory failure had been widely used in clinical treatment. This noninvasive therapy brought the patients less sufferings who liefly accepted it.But some patients who had received NIPPV missed the best time for the invasive ventilator treatment or intubation. Therefore,it was critical to the COPD patients with respiratory failure that applying NIPPV at the proper time. This review mainly discoursed on effectiveness predictive factors in NIPPV treatment of COPD patients with respiratory failure which was intended to provide evidence for the clinician to adopt NIPPV. Key words: Noninvasive positive pressure ventilation;  Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; Respiratory failure;  Predictive factor
