Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of integrated medical and nursing education model in nursing clinical teaching. Methods We selected 68 nursing students as the control group who studied in department of gynecology and mammary gland of our hospital from July 2014 to June 2015. We taught them with the traditional one-to-one teaching model. We selected 82 nursing students as the observation group who studied in department of gynecology and mammary gland of our hospital from July 2015 to June 2016. We taught them with the integrated medical and nursing model. We compared the two groups of nursing students in theoretical assessment score, operational assessment score, and evaluation of teaching satisfaction. Results There were statistically significant differences in the theoretical assessment score between the undergraduates, junior college students, and secondary school students of the two groups (P=0.0141, 0.0394, 0.0004); there were statistically significant differences in the operational assessment score between the undergraduates, junior college students, and secondary school students of the two groups (P=0.0372, 0.0168, 0.0291); there was statistically significant difference in the teaching satisfaction between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion The integrated medical and nursing model can significantly improve the theoretical level and practical ability of nursing students, improve learning initiative, enhance the interest in nursing knowledge, worthy to promoted in nursing clinical teaching. Key words: Nursing clinical teaching; Integrated medical and nursing model; Applied research
