Dignosistic value of capsule endoscopy for gastrointestinal disease

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of capsule enteroscopy on gastrointestinal diseases. Methods The clinical data of 123 cases for capsule enteroscopy examination from January 2011 to January 2015 was retrospectively analyzed. Results One hundred and twenty-three patients completed capsule enteroscopy examinations. The total detection rate was 71.5%(88/123). And there were 67 cases(54.5%) of small intestinal lesions, 17 cases(13.8%)of gastric lesions, 4 cases(3.3%) of colonic lesions. No patient was reported any serious adverse reaction. Conclusions Capsule enteroscopy examination for different gastrointestinal symptoms have good diagnostic value. It has high safety and less adverse reaction, and is easy to be accepted by patients. In addition, the capsule endoscopy has relatively high clinical value for physical examination of gastrointestinal tract. Key words: Capsule enteroscopy; Gastrointestine; Clinical application
