Abstract

MicroRNA(miRNA), a class of short non-coding RNA, is widely expressed in organisms.miRNA is proved to be able to diversely regulate gene expression.miRNA also plays an essential role under abnormal circumstances including the development of diversified cancer.miR-338-3p functions as a gene regulator to control various cellular process including cell growth, differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis.miR-338-3p is down regulated in many solid tumors.miR-338-3p prevents tumorigenesis and affects cancer progression and prognosis by influencing tumor genes and related signaling pathways.miR-338-3p is closely related to the development and prognosis of cancer. It could act as a potential disease biomarker and novel therapeutic target. Key words: Cancer; MicroRNA-338-3p; Bio-marker
