Strabismus surgery under microscope

Objective To investigate the feasibility and complications of strabismus surgery under microscope.Methods 128 cases were randomly divided into two groups,with 70 cases of strabismus surgery under microscope as experimental group and 58 cases with traditional strabismus surgery as control group,The postoperative follow-up ranged from 6 to 12 months with average(8.20 ± 2.41)months.The eye position and the postoperative complications(conjunctival incision scar,muscle suture reaction,subconjunctival cyst,infection and anterior segment is chemia)were ohserved.Results The effective rate of strabismus orthosis of the experimental group was 97.14％ and that of the control group was 96.55％,The effective rate had no statistical significance between the two groups(x2=0.04,P ＞ 0.05).The differences of complications of surgery between the two groups were statistically significant(x2=4.88,P ＜ 0.05),which was 1.43％ in experimental group,and 10.34％ in control group.Conclusion Efficiency of strabismus surgery under microscope is the same as traditional one.It has many advantages comparing with traditional strabismus surgery,such as minimal invasion,less complication,light reaction after operation.
