Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of strengthening the protection of superior laryngeal nerve from injury in the thyroid surgery on the reduction of injury rate of the superior laryngeal nerve. Methods From August 2011 to July 2013,108 patients were operated with thyroid surgery through improving the traditional operation method, and protecting the superior laryngeal nerve from injury. Results There was no superior laryngeal nerve injury among the 108 patients through postoperative clinical observation. Conclusions The injury rate of the superior laryngeal nerve is significantly reduced by improving the traditional operation method, and protecting the superior laryngeal nerve during operation. Key words: Thyroid surgery ; Superior laryngeal nerve ; Injury
