Reliability and validity of Chinese version of Mental Illness: Clinician's Attitudes Scale

Abstract

Objective To develop the Chinese version of Mental Illness:Clinician's Attitudes (Students' Version) and examine its reliability and validity.Methods The scale was translated using the standard translation/back-translation method and examine its internal consistency,content validity,construct validity and criterion-related validity in medical students who were selected by convenient method.Results The Cronbach's α coefficient for MICA was 0.75 and the test-retests reliabilities of the total scale was 0.86 after one week.And the content validity was 0.96.Exploratory factor analysis showed a five factors structure.Five factors were extracted by factor analysis and could explain 59.58％ of the total variance.Conclusions The Chinese version of MICA has good reliability and validity and can be used in medical students.
