Clinical and pathological analysis of 52 cases of IgA nephropathy

Objective To investigate the correlation between the clinical manifestations and pathological types in patients with IgA nephropathy in Tianmen,Hubei Province.Methods The clinical and pathological data of 52 patients with primary IgA nephropathy diagnosised by renal biopsy were analyzed retrospectively.Results In 52 patients with primary IgA nephropathy,20 cases(57.69％)were manifested as hematuria and proteinuria,15 cases (28.85％) were manifested as nephrotic syndrome.15 cases(28.85％)were mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis(Lee' s Ⅰ),16 cases(30.77％) were focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (Lee' s Ⅱ).Conclusions The clinical manifestations of IgA nephropathy are very diverse.The severity of the clinical manifestations are not in step with the pathologic changes.Therefore,renal biopsy should be done early in order to confirm the diagnosis.
