Abstract

The GATA transcription factor family is a type of transcription regulatory factors containing zinc finger structure, in which GATA4, GATA5 and GATA6 play a key role in the process of heart development and functional maturity.A large number of studies have confirmed that the GATA transcription factor family is not only involved in the the heart development, but also its mutations are related to the occurrence of human congenital heart diseases(CHD). This article mainly reviews the relationship between GATA family with heart development, and the relationship between GATA family gene mutation with congenital heart diseases. Key words: GATA transcription factor; Congenital heart disease; Gene mutation
