Abstract
Objective To explore the correlation between the level of endothelin-1 (ET-1) combined with interleukin-6 (IL-6) and the stability of plaque and intima-media thickness (IMT) of the carotid artery in patients with coronary syndrome. Methods All of 178 patients with coronary syndrome were recruited from January 2014 to January 2018 in Yangling demonstration zone hospital.According to the results of coronary angiography, the participants were divided into unstable plaque group (59 cases), stable plaque group (68 cases), and no plaque group (51 cases). While at the same time, 70 healthy persons were enrolled as a control group during physical examination. The levels of ET-1 and IL-6 were detected in the 4 groups of subjects.According to the tested MIT value, the patients were further divided into narrow group (44 cases), plaque group (39 cases), thickening group (49 cases), and normal group (46 cases). The relationship between ET-1 combined with IL-6 and the stability of plaque and MIT value were analyzed. Results (1) ET-1 and IL-6 levels in unstable plaque group>ET-1 and IL-6 levels in stable plaque group>ET-1 and IL-6 levels in no plaque group>ET-1 and IL-6 levels in control group, the differences between groups were statistically significant (P ET-1 and IL-6 levels in plaque group>ET-1 and IL-6 levels in thickening group>ET-1 and IL-6 levels in normal group, the difference between groups was statistically significant(P<0.05); (3) Et-1 and il-6 levels were negatively correlated with plaque stability(r=-0.865, r=-0.867, both P<0.05)and positively correlated with the IMT value of the patients with coronary syndrome(r=0.749, r=0.638, both P<0.05). Conclusion ET-1 and IL-6 can reflect the stability of plaque and the value of IMT in patients with coronary syndrome can be used as a laboratory indicator to evaluate the severity of the coronary syndrome. Key words: Endothelin-1; Interleukin-6; Coronary syndrome; Plaque stability; Plaque and Intima-media thickness
