Abstract

The growth of the human population and the generation of different type of waste, have a big influence on the degradation of the environment with an increasing number of landfill storages. The landfills are distributed on vast agricultural areas and in some situations they are uncontrolled and with a very high risk on the environmental area observation. The large amount of generated waste in urban and rural areas is a potential risk on a global level. Approximately, 70 % of the generated solid waste is found on a wild landfill. The negative impact on: water, soil and air in modern cities exist because of the problem of proper waste management and of solid waste processing. The biochemical processes of waste degradation of the organic components in waste have a negative impact on the environment. The composition of the waste products is very different and it consists of: municipality solid waste, industrial and agricultural waste, medical, electronic and other different types of waste with a complex composition. In the literature, there are different definitions for environmental management, because lot of researches work on the problems related to waste and its degradation with a purpose of finding new eco friendly processes. The main producers of the organic waste are: food production, industrial capacities, agricultural capacities and some other institutions. The recycling procedure directly influences the reuse of materials and energy. In that way, from the waste material, raw materials for the new process are obtained.
