Abstract
Objective To investigate efficacy of standard large trauma craniotomy for severe head injury. Methods 76 patients with severe head injury were randomly divided into a control group(received routine craniotomy) and an observation group(received standard large trauma craniotomy). The GCS score before and after treatment, cure rate, mortality, and incidence of complication of the two groups were compared. Results 3 and 15 days after treatment, the GCS score of the observation group were higher than that of the control group(P < 0.05).The cure rate and mortality of the observation group were better than that of the control group(P < 0.05).The incidence of complication of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P < 0.05).Conclusions Standard large trauma craniotomy in the treatment of severe head injury is effective and has a low incidence of complication. Key words: Standard large trauma craniotomy; Routine craniotomy; Severe head injury
