Pulmonary rehabilitation is now recognised as an important part of the comprehensive treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), but in patients with more severe COPD, its benefits might not be clear, new treatment options have been developed to increase the benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation.This review summarises some of new approaches being developed in the field of pulmonary rehabilitation.
