We have analyzed ISO SWS 01 observations for 61 proto-planetary nebulae\ncandidates and classified their spectra according to their dominant chemistry.\nOn the basis of our classification and the more general classification of SWS\n01 spectra by Kraemer et al. (2002) we discuss the connection between\nproto-planetary nebulae candidates and planetary nebulae, with emphasis on\npossible precursors of planetary nebulae with [WR] central stars.\n
