Abstract

The present paper aims to analyse the strategic framework of the European Union's energy policy. Therefore, there are targets set for the years 2020, 2030, 2050 for greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy and energy efficiency. In the first part of the article, the European Energy Security Strategy will be analysed, and in the second part there will be discussed the energy efficiency elements, namely the benchmarks of energy efficiency in the European Union, the new regulations on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, such as support schemes for the production of renewable energy in the EU. In the last part of the paper there will be analysed the European strategy for low-carbon mobility.
