Abstract
Abstract New paleomagnetic data on the Devonian and Early Carboniferous rocks in Tuva have been obtained. Component analysis of magnetization has been carried out. Coordinates of the paleomagnetic poles have been calculated: Φ = 53.8, Λ = 141.7, and A95 = 9.6 (Early Carboniferous); Φ = 3.7, Λ = 139.8, and A95 = 9.3 (beginning of the Late Devonian). The Early Carboniferous rocks were formed in the latitude range of 51°–70.5° N; rocks in the upper part of the Upper Devonian strata, 42°–68° N; and the lower part of the Upper Devonian strata, 21°–36° N. The large geological blocks of Tuva likely rotated in the horizontal plane due to the action of high-amplitude shears.
