Abstract
A detailed far-infrared map of the galacticcenter region has been obtained in the spectral interval 75-125 M with a resolution of 6'. An emitting region 20 by 3?6 yields a total flux density of 7.6 * 0.8 X 10-20 W m Hz-i, a luminosity of 1.2 X 1042 ergs , and a peak brightness of 7A X 10 ergs cm j i sterad-1. Five individual peaks are observed, four of which correspond to the radio-source positions of Sagittarius A, Sagittarius B2, G-0.6-0.1, and KE 56. The Sgr A and B sources are clearly resolved. These observations support the thermal dust-emission model with most probable dust temperatures in the range K.
