Abstract Based on analysis of experimental data, the self-generating processes in the system atmosphere–Earth’s crust are considered, in which energy is sequentially transferred from high-frequency (20–30 s) to low-frequency (4–5 min) nonlinear oscillations of the Earth’s crust. The causes of these self-generating oscillations, as well as their behavior in dependence on the changes in atmospheric pressure, are discussed.
