Abstract

This paper proposes a ripple canceling branch (RCB) to overcome the destructive effects of input pulsating current of flyback converter and reduce voltage spikes on the switch. This circuit consists of a coupled inductor and capacitor and third winding that added to the core of flyback coupled inductor. The low number of elements, simple structure, small size, cost-effective, and independent of operating conditions such as duty ratio are features of the proposed circuit. However, the excellent features of conventional flyback remained. The operation principle and conditions for input ripple cancellation are analyzed in detail. To the performance and theoretical analyses is evaluated by MATLAB/Simulation results.
