Abstract

The HACC (Home and Community Care) Workforce Planning and Development project was supported by the SA (South Australian) Office for the Ageing to fulfil these four objectives: 1. To develop a long term plan for workforce development and training in projects that are funded by the HACC Program to ensure better outcomes for service users; 2. To work with the industry to respond to current identified workforce training needs during the life of the project; 3. to make recommendations on industry structures that might need to be put in place to inform workforce planning, workforce training, curricula development and workforce accreditation and recognition; 4. To recommend on the particular workforce and training needs of staff and volunteers of rural services, agencies providing services to people from diverse cultural backgrounds and agencies providing services to indigenous people.
