Abstract
Proteobacteria \nGammaproteobacteria \nChromatiales \nEctothiorhodospiraceae \n \n \nA.rho.do.mo' nas. Gr. pref. a not; Gr. n. rhodon the rose, also the color or odor of the rose; Gr. n. monas lonely, alone; M.L. n. Arhodomonas the monas that is not rose colored. \n \nProteobacteria / Gammaproteobacteria / Chromatiales / Ectothiorhodospiraceae / Arhodomonas \n \nCells are rods that occur singly or in pairs, are motile by means of flagella, and multiply by binary fission. Gram negative. Members of the Ectothiorhodospiraceae of the Gammaproteobacteria. Gas vesicles and endospores are not formed. \n \nThe mol% G + C of the DNA is: 67 (Tm ). \n \nType species: Arhodomonas aquaeolei Adkins, Madigan, Mandelco, Woese and Tanner 1993, 518. \n
