Abstract

P258 PHYSICAL PROPERTIES AND COMPOSITION OF DEVONIAN CARBONATE AND SILICICLASTIC ROCKS FROM ESTONIA SUMMARY 1 Physical properties of 95 samples of Devonian sedimentary rocks from Estonia were studied together with their composition thin-sections and mineralogy for the first time. Studied rocks were represented by dolomites dolomitic marlstones siliciclastic rocks (sandstones and siltstones) and mixed carbonate -siliciclastic rocks. The purpose of the work was discrimination of the different lithological rock types alternating in stratigraphic sequence by their physical properties. Composition of the studied rocks is determined by proportion between dolomite and insoluble residue. Properties depend on mineral composition and either on
