Abstract
In this work role and significance of frequency, pattern and polarisation reconfigurable antennas in modern wireless communication systems is examined. Since capabilities and features of these antennas are directly related to current state of RF-switch technology, PIN-diode, unipolar transistor, and especially RF MEMS device as a switch are elaborated. Also, comparison of these three types of switches is made. Pattern reconfigurable antenna employing PIN-diodes is developed using commercial software and fabricated. The performance of the pattern reconfigurable antenna is demonstrated with simulation and measurement results.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
