Within the scope of this thesis study, intelligent urbanism and urban form and planning approaches emerged with the concept of urban renewal, the development process of urban renewal since 1900, the urban transformation projects and basic issues as an instrument of urban renewal, and the concept of sustainable urban development. These approaches include in-depth interviews at the municipal level and questionnaires used in the community scale, evaluating the projects made in urban areas for urban renewal and urbanization especially in the USA, by taking into consideration the features, examples, application tools and techniques of intelligent urbanism approach and project adaptation matrices of intelligent urbanism It will be held. Selected examples from the urban transformation areas of Basaksehir Municipality were evaluated for their work on intelligent urbanism. In the first part, based on the literature survey, the concept of urban renewal, the urban form of sustainable development, sustainability indicators and planning dimension will be evaluated. The concept of urban sprawl, especially as a priority area of action in reducing its negative impacts, will highlight the importance of urban transformation areas. In the second part, the evaluation of the literature review and the questionnaires and matrices to be used in the field study of the urban transformation will be explained. In addition, urban transformation will be managed and the application of intelligent urban planning practices in the planning system in Turkey will be examined. In the third and fourth section, the method, tools and sources of the field work will be explained. Then, studies of Basaksehir district planning studies will be carried out on urban renewal process and intelligent urban planning practices at municipal level.
