Abstract

Countries and big power companies are using renewable energy sources to promote development, expand electricity access, and meet their policy targets for reliable, secure, sustainable and affordable energy. It is very difficult to specify which renewable energy technology is the most appropriate without having access to reliable information on the relative benefits of these energy sources. This paper provides an overview of using biomass as a renewable energy source to generate heat and power. Different technologies are introduced.
