Abstract

Abstract Due to their mechanical resistance, fossil corals are preserved as pebbles in Quaternary river alluvium and thus form markers by means of which the former course of streams can be traced. The Quaternary drainage of the Pintheville area, France, is reconstructed by tracing the source of madrepore-bearing pebbles in the Quaternary alluvium.
