Guidance and the Social Order of the School

The growth of guidance systems in Scottish schools is seen as a major innovation hav}ng to become established within an existing educational organisation.From a study of various aspects of school management in 10 schools in the Dundee area, it is argued that this process of institutionalisation has posed radical and difficult questions about guidance -the importance of which may not have been sufficiently realised.
