Abstract
A total of 265 fecal samples of cattle from local slum areas of Mumbai (Maharsahtra), screened during the period from March 2014 to February 2015 from which 61 (23.01%.) were positive for gastro-intestinal parasites (GIP). The species of intestinal parasites were coccidia, Fasciola hepatica, Moniezia expansa, Stongyles, Trichuris trichiura, Strongyloides stercoralis, Toxocara vitulorum and Amphistomes. T. trichura (52.63%) was more prevalent as compared to other parasites. In rainy season out of 50 samples, 22 (44%) were positive, in summer season out of 70, 21 (37.14%) samples were positive and in winter, 18 (12.41%) samples were positive out of 145 samples.
