Abstract
Communication systems often use a shared medium. Access to that medium requires a protocol. Communication systems based on wavelength division multiplexing use many wavelengths, each representing a distinct channel. This paper examines media access control protocols for such WDM networks. The paper presents four access protocols: I-SA (Interleaved Slotted ALOHA), I-TDMA (Interleaved Time Division Multiple Access), I-TDMA* (Interleaved Time Division Multiple Access Star) and TDMA-C (Time Division Multiple Access Collisionless). The simulator has been built and used to measurs network throughputs and average packet delays. Gathered results were displayed and analyzed.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
