Suggestions for the Enhancement of School Art Education and the Development of Content Organization of Art Textbooks Focusing on 3 Core Themes, Contemporary Art, Community-Linked Art(Public Art), and Art Appreciation·Museum Education

본 연구는 현 정부가 ‘학교예술교육중장기계획’(교육부, 2018), 학교예술교육활성화기본계획(교육부, 2019; 2020) 및 ‘미술 진흥중장기계획’(2018-2022)(문화체육관광부, 2018)을 통해 추진하는 ‘학교예술교육의 질적 제고’ 및 ‘미술로 행복한 삶’을 위한 기반 연구의 하나로, 학교미술교육 강화를 위하여 주목해야 할 3가지 핵심 주제, 즉, ‘동시대 미술’, ‘지역사회 연계 미술(공공미술)’, ‘미술 감상·미술관교육’이 학교미술교육에 어떻게 반영되어 있는지를 살펴보고 개선 방안을 제안하는 데 목 적을 두었다. 이를 위하여 학교미술교육 전문가 7인을 대상으로 설문조사 및 자문회의를 통해 교과서 분석을 위한 주제별 필수 내용 요소로서의 분석기준을 점검하였으며, 이에 기초하여 2015 개정 미술과 교육과정(교육부, 2015a)에 따라 개발된 초·중·고 미술 교과서 총 64권을 분석하였다. 학교미술교육의 강화를 위한 본 연구의 제안들은 우리나라 미술교육 정책을 비롯하여 차기 미술과 교육과정 및 학교급별 미술 교과서 개발 시 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 궁극적으로 학교미술교육 전반에 긍정적인 효과를 불러올 것이라 기대된다.The purpose of this study was to examine the 3 core themes(‘contemporary art’, ‘community-linked art(public art)’, ‘art appreciation·museum education’) proposed by ‘Korea Arts Management Service’, and to suggest future directions for enhancement of school art education. This study was done as the base research for ‘qualitative improvement of school art education’ and ‘happy life with art’ promoted through a set of School Arts Education Plans(MOE, 2018; 2019; 2020) and Art Promotion Plan(MCST, 2018) by the government. For this purpose, a total of 64 elementary to high-school art textbooks by 2015 revised Korean National Art Curriculum(MOE, 2015a) were analyzed. The standard of analysis for screening art textbooks was reviewed and verified by 7 school art-education experts. The result and the suggestions of this study could be used as a foundation for developing the next national art curriculum and art textbooks, and would bring about the effect of leading the advance of school art education.
