Abstract

Heavy landings of ribbon fishes where observed \nat Rameswaram in March. Pair trawlers operating \nabout 15 km North-eastoff Rameswaram (9 10'- \n9°20'N latitude and 79° 20'- 79° 35' E longitude) at \nabout 12m depth, had landed an estimated 45.18 \ntonnes of ribbon fish at a cpeu of 21.8 kg.
