Abstract
This entry gives an overview of the most commonly used types of visual data presentation in the social sciences: bar chart, dot chart, pie chart, box‐and‐whisker plot, line graph, histogram, and scatterplot. Several factors that influence the choice for the appropriate type of graph are discussed.
