Abstract

Polar code is an error correction technique developed by Arikan in information theory field. It has an advantage of low complexity in encoding and decoding process. Various methods are proposed by researchers, for efficient decoding of polar code. Successive Cancelation Decoding (SCD) is one of the popular method of decoding in polar code. It has high capacity achieving capabilities as well as carrying low complexity. However it is not efficient enough to use in low latency applications. In this paper an efficient improved polar code algorithm is developed for decoding process known as Modified Successive Cancelation Decoding (MSCD). It has significantly affected the polar code performance. The performance of the polar code is presented in the form of Bit Error Rate (BER) and Frame Error Rate (FER), which is superior compare to SCD.
