Abstract

The scale of the increase of the mechanical properties due to Z r addition is illustrated by data obtained on separately sand cast specimens of alloys containing mishmetal ( M M ) [355]. In this work specimens of the alloy M g - 3 . 1 0 M M - 0 . 4 6 Z r (in mass %) showed TS = 130 M P a , TYS(cj).i) = 8 2 - 5 M p a , E = 3%, as compared with TS = 89.5 M P a , TYS(cfe.i) = 52.5 M P a , E = 1% of the binary alloy M g - 3 . 0 1 M M (in mass %).
