Analysis of New Trends in LIS Research in India : A Scientometrics Study

Abstract

This study described the characteristics of LIS Research from India of Journal of Library Associations (JILA), Journal of Advancement in Library Science and Journal of Advances of Library and Information Science published from 2015-2019.Research articles in Scientometrics, Bibliometric, Webometrics, Altimetry’s, Publication Productivity and Authorship Pattern related disciplines Published in Three IndianJournals. 627 Research papers published in study period. Of 147 (24%) articles on Scientometric, Bibliometrics, Webometric, Altmetric, Publication Productivity and Authorship Pattern related published in this journal. There was a marked increase inthe number of publications over time, especially in the last five years. Analysis ofresearch areas showed a proportionate rise in Bibliometrics and Scientometricsresearch. Our Study provides a making and strategy planning in the research of libraryand information science.
