Abstract
In the previous chapter I discussed the influence of advertising on the decision-making and the output of broadcasting and the press. In fact, the whole question of the influence of advertising, particularly on us as individuals, is one of continuing debate. It is an issue which concerns a number of people, not least the advertisers who want to know or be sure that people buy advertised goods and therefore that their messages are effective.
