Abstract
Estimation of mean nematode population/200 cc soil samples revealed the presence of Meloidogyne incognita (359.7), Rotylenchulus reniformis (107.51), Hoplolaimus indicus (51.36), Helicotylenchus dihystera (50.17), Hirschmaniella mucronata (32.37), Tylenchorhynchus mashhoodi (57.38), Criconemella ornata (14.40), Dorylaimids (78.64), Rhabditids (55.02) and Mononchids (23.36) exhibiting varying population densities. Among the different plant parasitic nematodes, Meloidogyne incognita was highest frequency of occurrence (262) with absolute frequency 64.0%, followed by Rotylenchulus reniformis (62.8%), Tylenchorhynchus mashhoodi (49.1%), Helicotylenchus dihystera (42.0%), Hoplolaimus indicus (39.6), Hirschmaniella mucronata (10.5%) and Criconemella ornata (2.4). More over Meloidogyne incognita was found the most prominent species with highest prominence value (2878.91) followed by by Rotylenchulus reniformis (852.19) with the lowest prominence value (22.52) recorded in Criconemella ornata. Among free living nematodes, Dorylaimids were highest frequency of occurrence (286) with absolute frequency 69.9% followed by Rhabditids (49.8%) and Mononchids (8.0%). Dorylaimids were also having highest density (78.64) and prominence value (657.60) followed by Rhabditids and Mononchids.
